Manchester United have officially completed the signing of Daniel James on a five-year deal with an option of an extra 12 months. The club had announced that they have reached an agreement to sign the player on Friday. The initial fee is estimated to be around £15 million and could rise to £22m with add-ons.
The transfer was completed with the transfer window officially opening on June 11th. James is set to be United’s first summer signing this season and the first signing under Ole Gunner Solskjaer.
James had made his professional debut only last season for Swansea in the Championship. He scored 5 goals in 37 games for them and helped the side to a 10th place finish in the league.
James was on the verge of joining Leeds United in January before Swansea rejected the move at the last minute. However, Leeds were hopeful of completing the deal in the summer only to be beaten by Manchester United.
