Meaning behind the lyrics

The song is part of Taylor Swift’s new album, Lover, which will be released on the 23rd of August. The song has various LGBT mentions which can be seen in the lyric video.

As mentioned, the lyric video has many LGBT mentions. The lyrics had references to GLAAD, an LGBT led media-monitoring organisation. The lyric video also highlighted the letters ‘EA’ in the words, ‘peace’, ‘scream’ and ‘seats’. The letters ‘EA’ refer to the Equality Act, The Equality Act is to prohibit discrimination on sexual orientation and gender identity for necessities such as housing, employment and public education. Taylor Swift has been very supportive of the act.

Yes! The years-long feud between Taylor Swift and Katy Perry has officially ended, as can be seen in Taylor Swift’s music video. Katy Perry was rocking her Met Gala hamburger outfit while Taylor was wearing a French Fries outfit. In the music video, as everyone around them were having food fights, they came together and hugged, symbolizing the end of the feud. The stars fell out 5 years ago, when Taylor accused Katy Perry of stealing her background dancers. They patched things up last year and are completely over the dispute, as can be seen clearly, in the music video.
