BTS’ and Halsey’s music video, ‘Boy with Luv’ has been recognized by the Recording Institute of America (RIAA) as a platinum award winner! The song was released on April 12 and has gotten more than 400 million views so far.

About the award

On June 20, the RIAA added “Boy with Luv” to its registry, confirming that the hit had achieved over 1 million units, listing its gold and platinum awards at the same time. This is not the first BTS song to have achieved such an award. The group’s song ‘ Mic Drop’ was the first to receive the recognition, last November.

One equivalent song unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to one digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. BTS is the only Korean idol group to have 2 songs that are recognized by the RIAA as platinum. The only other Korean artist who has a platinum-awarded song is Psy for his song, ‘Gangam Style’.
