What is it ?
The German company is once again coming up with a unique project called the Beast, the name given by the designers. This is the BMW X6 painted in the “black-est” black, called Vantablack. The company has decided to present it in the Frankfort Motorshow 2019. The Vantablack is not just a black color, but is made from microcarbon nano-tubes. This does not reflect any light and gives the vehicle a 2-dimensional effect, hiding its features and details.
This carbon matrix was originally used on space cameras and spacecraft. This time, BMW has coated the X6 with Vantablack variant VBx2, which reflects 1% of light from every angle. This color goes very well with the X6 because of its massive size, extraordinary features, and distinctive shape. Also due to the absence of light, the windows, grille, and tail lamps pop out.
Is it for Sale?
This BMW is the only unit ever made with this color, because of the enormous difficulty in making this pure black variant . Also, the Vantablack is not made for everyday use because of its property of hiding all the features and details of the object, which is questionable in regards to road safety due to its level on the absorption spectrum. This is the very first time BMW has tried such a thing, which can be may in the near future if laser embedded systems get into the the automotive industry soon.
