Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 revealed: The luxury unfolded

Mercedes has added one more piece of design and luxury to its Maybach segment. The Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 was revealed on 22 November at the Guangzhou Motor Show in China. It is the upgraded variant of the older third-generation GLS. This is the best in class from Mercedes, and it is here to give a fierce competition to Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce Cullinan, etc.

Lots of changes can be seen from both exteriors as well as from interiors. This is a whole new look from the Mercedes with large chrome grills in front with sleek LED headlamps. This Maybach is 5202mm long and stands tall on 23-inch wheels. The headlights are very pleasing to the eyes and fits in entirely in the nose of the GLS 600. The Mercedes Maybach will be available in both four and five-seater variant.

Under the hood of Maybach GLS 600

Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 generates power using a hybrid unit with a turbocharged 4-liter V8 engine combining with a 48V EQ boost system. The hybrid setup can produce a massive 558hp and a tremendous 730Nm of torque. There is a 4-Matic all-wheel-drive system with a nine-speed automatic gearbox that sends power to all the wheels. The company claims 0-100kph in just 4.9 seconds. This is an excellent reach from an SUV perspective.

Stylish exterior of Mercedes Maybach GLS 600

The Maybach GLS 600 looks stylish from the outside. The big chrome grills, big monstrous nose, and twin LED headlamps across the corners complete the front look. The GLS 600 comes with optional two-tone color scheme with eight different color combinations. The chrome lines on the bonnet are identical to the older GLS. The Mercedes GLS 600 comes with the chrome B-pillars and Maybach branding on the D-pillars. At the rear, the chrome lining connects the reflectors and the taillamps.

Lavish interior of Mercedes Maybach GLS 600

The new Maybach GLS 600 comes with the lavish and the most luxurious interior of all time. Both the front as well as the rear side of the interior is loaded with the features. The designers have designed the interiors keeping in mind both the practicality as well as the luxury in mind. The rear seats are no less than the lounge recliners in business class of any jet.

Some of the features include the traditional Burmester speakers, shape-memory heated seats with massaging function, a small refrigerator at the back, twin foldable tables for the rear passenger, and much more. The front cabin constitutes high-quality Nappa leather and an electronic stabilized steering with all the cruise and infotainment controls. The front displays and infotainment screen comes with the brand new Maybach theme UI.

The price of the Mercedes Maybach GLS 600 is not known yet. The delivery of this luxury car will start in 2021. Seeing the increasing popularity of luxury SUVs in India, the German company is planning to launch it in India, soon after the launch in China and Europe.
