Popular climate activist Greta Thunberg was catapulted into the worldwide spotlight in September when she shot down world leaders for not doing their part in preventing climate change. She was also recently named TIME Magazine’s “Person of the Year” for 2019, making her the youngest person to receive the title.
Once again, President of the United States, Donald Trump, has taken a shot against the 16-year-old Swedish activist on Twitter. This time, he talked about Greta’s “anger management issues” and that she needs to “chill.”
Greta on Donald Trump’s comment
In typical Greta fashion, she updated her Twitter bio to reflect the comments made by the President in a mocking manner. The last time this happened was when Trump attacked her in September saying, “She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!”
The public comment from Donald Trump on Greta has brought an outrage of angry replies from many public figures on Twitter. Holly Figueroa O’Reilly uses very strong language to condemn the fact that Donald Trump is involving “minor children in political arguments.” She also indirectly states that Donald Trump isn’t fit for office, as he is taking public shots at a girl with Asperger Syndrome.
Holly is a notable musical artist and has actively talked about the possible impeachment of Donald Trump, and her support for it.
The tweet sparked numerous other angry tweets from notable public figures.
Greta Thunberg has inspired protesters worldwide to begin rallies and movements to inspire actions regarding climate change. She has been known to avoid traveling by air. She is diagnosed with Asperger’s, which is a developmental disorder that affects social interaction. However, Greta has called her condition a superpower and has not stopped her from inspiring millions of people around the world.
