Plane crash leaves 183 passengers with injuries in Istanbul, Turkey

183 passages have escaped death after a plane skidded off the runway, tearing apart at Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport (Turkey). Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya has confirmed 52 injuries in the near-death crash. The weather showed some showers and thunderstorms when the plane crashed. Flightradar24.com recorded the incident to have happened at 6:19 PM local time on February 6.

The Turkish transportation ministry said that the plane carried a total of 177 passengers with 6 crew members. There have been no deaths recorded, only injuries. Statements released confirmed that the plane caught fire after it landed – hence ambulances and rescue teams were on standby. This has led to the temporary closing of the airport to air traffic.

Turkish Capital Ankara has already started investigations on the occurred incident.
