The 10th Democratic Debate, the last debate before Saturday’s South Carolina primary and Super Tuesday, saw a heated argument throughout the event. Early in the night, the opponents started off by attacking Bernie Sanders, by questioning the cost of his proposals, his record on guns, and his recent comments about Fidel Castro. “I’m hearing my name mentioned a little bit tonight. I wonder why,” he said.
The entire debate involved a lot of shouting and chaos as every candidate tried to gain control by shouting at the other candidates. CBS News was even criticized for not being able to conduct the debate in a peaceful manner. As a result of which, many crucial issues didn’t get the required attention and time.
Republicans took off on the Democrats by pointing out the chaos of the night and called the Democrats as unworthy of holding power. Mike Bloomberg responded to the criticisms against him by saying that he was “probably wrong” by making sexist jokes about his employees.
The debate included discussions covering many crucial issues. Foreign policy, being the most discussed issue, was discussed for about 25 minutes. Electricity, health care, and gun control were discussed for 22 minutes, 16 minutes, and 7 minutes respectively.
