General Motors has launched its all-new electric Chevrolet Menlo. The American manufacturers have restricted the delivery of the new Menlo to China itself. In 2017, the company guaranteed the launch of 20 new electric vehicles by 2023. The Chevy Menlo is the first proper EV under the Chevrolet brandm after the Bolt. General Motors promised the launch of 2 all-electric cars based on the concept of Chevrolet Bolt.
The Menlo is the much-awaited sporty looking sedan and can be called a sports crossover. It is the third all-electric car after Baojun E200 and the Buick Velite 6 EV. The company has decided to stick to its previous schemes and will continue the sale for the Chevrolet Menlo to China itself.
Chevrolet Menlo specifications
The Menlo comes with a powerful battery and is capable of producing 110kW and generating 350 Nm of maximum torque. General Motors calls it a sports crossover, and the features do justify the statement. The New European Driving Cycle verifies that a range of 200 miles(410 KM) of range in one single charge. General Motors claims to charge battery up to 80% in 40 minutes with a DC fast charger.
Exciting features in all-new Menlo EV
The design of the all-new Chevy Menlo is unique and futuristic. Some of the features include a 10.1-inch ultra LCD touch screen, an 8-inch LCD control panel, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, etc. Also, three modes of drive – Eco, Normal, and Sports – give the driver smooth and comfortable conditions to drive. The newly launched Chevrolet Menlo has received the certification for meeting the Automotive Safety Integrity Level D, which is the highest safety factor. Some of the latest safety and security features include Forward Collision Alert (FCA), Bosch’s 9.3 Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Side Blind Zone Alert (SBZA), Following Distance Indicator (FDI), Automatic Parking Assist (APA), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).
The all-new Chevrolet Menlo will only be sold in China for now. The company launched the Menlo in four variants, starting from RMB 159,900 ($22,712) to RMB 179,900 ($25,553). It seems the most affordable, purely electric crossover by far, as far as the features are concerned.
