The Wonder Woman star has taken to the internet to support and entertain the masses amidst the coronavirus pandemic.
Gal Gadot’s social media activity seems to have increased considerably during the quarantine. The actress has recently posted a picture of a tablet in which her Wonder Woman 1984 co-stars are celebrating some sort for the birthday of Narcos fame Pedro Pascal. Patty Jenkins, the director of the film along with Chris Pine and Pedro Pascal himself, is seen in the picture, and in front of the tablet is a couple of cupcakes with candles stuck to them.
A few weeks ago, the star made a video collage with some other well-known celebrities of them singing John Lennon’s famous “Imagine.” Some of the celebrities in the video were actors like Kristen Wiig, Zoe Kravitz, Natalie Portman, Will Ferrel, Mark Ruffalo, and some were popstars like Sia and Labrinth. Although the video was made in good intent to support the people working at hospitals and people staying at home, it rubbed some people in the wrong way.
The video was lambasted by the internet for reasons as simple as bad singing. People claim the song not to be soothing and actually horrendous to hear. Not to mention how some of them even made parodies of it. One being the same but with Ariana Grande’s “Imagine” instead of the one by John Lennon. The internet is an unpredictable place, and blaming Gal Gadot for her naivety isn’t fair.
Furthermore, Wonder Woman 1984, the second installment of the Wonder Woman franchise, is delayed. The DC movie, set to release by the first week of June initially, is postponed to the 14th of August. Most of the movies that were supposed to release these couple of months have been pushed back due to the pandemic.
