Polestar 2 launched at $59,900 – A tough competition to Tesla

In 2019, Polestar revealed its upcoming all-electric sedan. Polestar 2 is the 5-door sedan built on a purely electric powertrain. The Volvo Car Group and Geely are the joint owners of the Swedish Company, Polestar. The production of the EV started last month in China, and a couple of days ago, the company announced the final price of the Polestar 2 – deliveries of the brand new EV are expected later this year. The final cost of the Polestar 2 is less than what was assumed during the reveal last year, said Gregor Hembrough, head of Polestar USA.

Price of the Polestar 2

The all-electric Polestar 2 will start at $59,900. The on-road price of Polestar lies between Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model S. It gives a fierce competition to American manufacturers. The EV is rich in features and specifications, and add-on options are also available with the model. The performance pack costs $5,000 extra on the MSRP, and the Nappa leather interior option costs around $4,000. The upgrades for 20-inch alloy wheels and metallic paint is priced at $1,200 each.

The Polestar EV is really powerful

The all-electric Polestar 2 comes with futuristic features and an elegant style. It is built on Volvo’s modular architecture and shares, almost the same specifications of the Volvo X40 Recharge EV. The 5-seater EV, with a 78kWh lithium-ion powerful battery pack and two electric motors, generates 408bhp and over 600Nm of torque. The estimated range of Polestar 2 is 275 miles and it can cross 0-60 mph mark in under 5 seconds.

Other features of the Polestar 2

The Polestar 2 is also confident of its Android-powered infotainment system and consists of numerous Google integrated features. The responsive voice recognition feature can be beneficial and allow the drive to be more relaxed and comfortable. Since the interior can be completely customized as per the customer’s requirements, customers will have multiple options to choose from.

We can expect deliveries of Polestar 2 later this summer, and the customers can easily book their brand-new EV from Polestar official website. Although the company announced the expected delivery month, it may get delayed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
