AMC bans Universal Studios from its theaters over ‘Trolls World Tour’

AMC theaters is headquartered in Kansas and is the largest movie chain in the world. As retaliation what Jeff Shell stated, AMC theaters will no longer screen the Universal Studios’ movies.

What is the dispute about?

Shell made the comments in a Wall Street Journal story that reported the animated film to have had a profit of $95 million in digital rentals. In reply to this, Adam Aron, the chairman and CEO of AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. and AMC Entertainment Inc., banned the release of films made by Universal in AMC theaters.

It is disappointing to us, but Jeff’s comments as to Universal’s unilateral actions and intentions have left us with no choice. herefore, effectively immediately AMC will no longer play any Universal movies in any of our theatres in the United States, Europe or the Middle East.

Adam Aron writes in an open letter to Universal Studios
