Google Arts and Culture: A virtual world for art lovers

Sober days have turned out to quite interesting after all for the art and culture lovers. Many sites like the Google Arts and Culture are being stages for bringing out the idol artworks and cultural performances happening all around the world. One can visit any place with a click of a button for free and view into all the historians’ traditional cultural performances.

The advancement of technology has played a great hand in helping such people. Museums and art galleries had been getting themselves ready for this year’s visitors as they had tones last year, but unfortunately, everything came to a sudden halt. But its all in handy as all the art and cultural places are becoming visited by thousands virtually. There are tours around places, live shows, recorded shows, documentaries, and tones of slides of artwork. To keep the visitor’s attention, many have art paints also have recorded audio of the artists talking about their work, which is being visited.

Some of the places visited are 2,000 cultural institutions in about 80 countries, which is just a start. The most exciting places are such as the historical excavated places in middle East Africa, ancient pyramids of Egypt, the Guggenheim Museum in Spain, and also works of Jeff Koon’s multicolored, stainless steel, bouquet called ‘Tulips.’ To keep it entertaining, there are sites on which artist fans are allowed to upload their copy of a great work such and the Starry Night and others. Also, they can use art selfie to see who they resemble the closest among many portraits among thousands. Some allow visitors to purchase works too.

Mohamed Somji, the director of Gulf Photo Plus, also expresses his view on how these sites have a great idea, and he has been helping along for some of the art galleries at Alserkal Avenue in Dubai. Luisella Mazza, the operations director of the Google Cultural Institute, state that they are happy to help such a large number of people and happy to see many visiting their site.
