#releasethesnydercut has been the war cry of a lot of fans on Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram from the moment they knew this existed. It has been going on for a long time, and a lot of the actors who starred in the movie hinted that the Snyder cut is way better. This grabbed a lot of attention since the theatrical cut of the Justice League didn’t do so well and was critically bashed. Not to mention that the one released wasn’t completely directed by Zack Snyder, it was Joss Whedon who completed the movie.
The director, Zack, announced the news after a virtual screening of Man of Steel along with Henry Cavil. The original Batman and Superman duo is also coming together along with the cast to support and finish the movie as it was intended. HBO Max reportedly gave Snyder a budget of 20-30 million dollars to complete the project.
I personally think the director’s cut should be the only cut. Editing a movie down to improve the viewing experience of the audience is just plain pandering. The movie loses all of its originality, and it isn’t honest or just anymore.
HBO Max is the only worthy opponent of Netflix right now, and it seems to be winning over. HBO has always been a provider of good content; TV shows, sports, movies, you name it. Netflix is fairly new to this game of producing, so I think HBO Max might just win the streaming wars. It’s Netflix’s move to up its production game, even though it can’t beat HBO’s, it can at least still be on the race.
