John Bolton, the preceding White House National Security Adviser, said that he has lost faith in Trump. He said that in reference to the handling of the coronavirus pandemic. He accused his erstwhile chief of turning a ‘blind eye’ towards the current pandemic. The President completely ignored the beginning of the mass outbreak. According to Bolton, he did so because he was not willing to hear “bad news” about his friend Xi Jin Ping, the Chinese President.
The views of Bolton
He said that the President badly wanted the trade deal with China and was ready to ignore everything that the country had done. Further, he continued, “I think there is an empty chair in the Oval Office, because the President did not want to hear bad news about Xi Jin Ping, his friend.” He deliberately ignored the whitewash of the virus in China or even the after-effects that could have been caused on the trade deal, which he wants above anything. He even completely took no notice of the adverse effects it could have on the American economy. Neither did he care about its effects on the re-election. Bolton completely blamed the President’s ignorance for the country’s inability to fight the virus in the past as well as the present.
The future of the United States
Bolton clearly told the media that he had absolutely none when it came to confidence or hope when it came to Trump on handling the current situation. He accused the policies of the country to have evolved as unpredictable since January. However, they continue to typify the response of everyone. This is a very evident observation, but still, Trump continues to turn a blind eye towards the same. He has had no changes in his behavioral pattern. He strongly expressed the need of having the say of the local authorities important in a country like the United States.
