Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering signing three more new players in addition to Jadon Sancho in the upcoming transfer window. It is no secret that United are huge fans of Sancho and would love to sign him. But the Red Devils would be also looking to strengthen other areas of their team as well.
Solskjaer, since becoming the manager of United, has made five signings. The summer transfers Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire and Daniel James, have lived up to their price tags. Whereas Bruno Fernandes and Odion Ighalo have made a great impact on the team since their arrival in January.
United are determined to close the gap at the top of the league as they look to challenge for the Premier League title their first since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
According to reports, United are expected to chase Sancho vigorously once the transfer window opens at the end of the season. The red Devils will also look to sign a striker, a central midfielder and central defender.
United’s current first-choice striker Anthony Martial has had a great season playing down the middle. Martial, in his new role, has already scored 20 goals. But United could still add a Striker to the team to push and challenge Martial in the team. Celtic’s Odsonne Edouard and Lyon’s Moussa Dembele are two players that are linked to United.
In the central defender department, it is reported that Solskjaer is looking for a left-footed defender to replace Marcos Rojo. One player that Solskjaer could sign is Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake. However, they are expected to face tough competition from Chelsea.
Players like Kalidou Koulibaly, Dayot Upamecano, and Joe Rondon from Napoli, RB Leipzig, and Swansea are also linked to the club.
Midfield is also an area that United is looking to strengthen. It is heavily rumored that Aston Villa Captain Jack Grealish is expected to make the switch to Manchester. A few days back it was reported that the player is already house-hunting in the North-West.
However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic signings, players might be a little difficult due to financial uncertainty. United Boss Solskjaer also admitted that he was unsure how COVID-19 would impact the club spending this summer.
