2020 seems to be taking a heavy toll on the rich and poor alike, as the latest in that series hits the MNC and tech giant Apple. The much-spoken about iPhone 12 series is due to hit the markets, and it’s expected to be sold in the span of very little time. So you wonder where the whole issue lies amongst all this.
The issue lies in the batteries that power the phone which the company submitted all the designs and batteries for certifications. It was revealed that the company had slashed the batteries to such an extent that it will make people think twice before buying the product. The company which spotted this MySmartPrice.
Following are the specifications related to the batteries.
- Apple iPhone 12 (5.4-inch) – A2471 – 2,227 mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775 mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch) – A2431 – 2,775 mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) – A2466 – 3,687 mAh
These battery sizes are pretty pale as compared to the iPhone 11 series
- Apple iPhone 11 (6.1-inch) – 3110 mAh
- Apple iPhone 11 Pro (5.8-inch) – 3,046 mAh
- Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) – 3,969 mAh
As such, the batteries are only 10% less than the previous model, but when you think about the fact that the latest model is also expected to support 5G, the overall power provided comes under a lot of fire. The already bad reputation that Apple has regarding its battery capacity is not helped by this issue. On the contrary, Samsung has buffed up its batteries for the 5G models by 15%, which can cause a loss of customers for Apple.
The screen size of the model is also increasing, along with higher resolutions, this means more trouble for the company’s battery life. This also sounds like an end to the 120Hz refresh rate that Apple was planning to have on this phone. Although the designs and the new touch display are amazing, the battery life comes as a shocker to many, and we have to wait to know what happens later on.
