With the United States still being the worst affected country due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it is evident that some countries which have just started recovering from the virus do not want to encourage more travelers from the united states to their respective countries.
On the 16 of this month, all the 27 countries part of the Europian Union extended their ban on US travelers. They said they would review their list of the accepted countries every two weeks.
China had banned all the travelers from the US, and the US also had banned Chinese travelers. Japan and New Zealand also banned visitors from the US. New Zealand, which was earlier declared COVID free, recorded a single COVID case yesterday.
With the cases rising, Canada and Mexico have said that they will now not allow any non-essential travelers to cross the borders.
To add to this list, the Bahamas recently announced that it would not be allowing US travelers to start this Wednesday. However, private international flights, charters, and yachts from all countries will be allowed.
“Our current situation demands decisive action if we are to avoid being overrun and being defeated by this virus. The better we are at this, the more our economy could open up, and people could make a living,” Prime Minister Hubert Minnis said in a nationally televised address Sunday.
This makes the whole list of 33 countries that have banned US travelers due to ongoing pandemic.
