As of today, and the last five months, nothing has trended online more than the COVID-19, be it the news, Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter! The fact that it has caused almost all countries to undergo lockdowns and still shows no sign of respite is staggering in itself.
The much-awaited vaccine of this virus is the only solution to the pandemic, according to many health experts and leaders. Yet in this time, Americans have come out and given a figure that might surprise all of us.
In a recent survey conducted, more than one-third of the total number of people who were quizzed said that they would not get the vaccine even if it’s safe. Conducted by a company called Gallup, they asked more than 7,500 people if they would get vaccinated by an FDA approved vaccine. Only 65% of the people said yes, meaning 35% of the people would not.

To think this is gender-biased is wrong as well since this split is the same when checked males and females individually too! However, there is a difference in the minority groups of the country. A higher number of people in the minorities are not going to get vaccinated, with the percentage going from 35 to 41%.
“As the situation stands today, the nation’s influencers — including health professionals, policymakers, and leaders — who see a vaccine as a way forward may have their work cut out for them in persuading Americans to take advantage of such an option,” Gallup said!
Although this was not totally out of the blue, anti-vaccination protests have been going on in America for quite some time.
Even the political differences show a major rift, with 81% democrats saying they will get the vaccinations and only 47% republicans saying so. More than 160,000 people have died due to this virus in the U.S., and we hope that there are no more.
