Google gets the Calendar app back on Android Auto

The users of the tech giant company Google want the time spent in the car to be a relaxing one, and they were very prompt to answer the wishes of their customers. Therefore, they reintroduced the Calendar app on Android Auto. During a change/update in 2019, Google removed this app from the cars, replacing it with a button that reads appointments and events using Google Assistant. Unfortunately, nothing appears on the screen, with users being slightly dissatisfied with this new approach. We already know that in 2019, Apple introduced a similar calendar for their CarPlay users, together with the iOS 13 update.

However, Google had decided to exceed expectations and has announced some of the specs of the new application. They added relevant shortcuts for important appointments in order to help their customers manage their time better. For example, if you are on your way to a doctor’s appointment and you need cash, you have the possibility to use an option that will point you to the closest ATM or if you are on the way to someone’s birthday and you have to pick up the birthday cake, the application can actually make it so much easier to directly contact the bakery or give you directions to get there faster. The app will relay this information either on the widescreen or play it for you.

Right now, more information is scarce, but we will find out more over the coming month, together with the launch of the Android Auto Calendar app for Android 6.0+ devices. Once again, Google proved quite adept at correcting past missteps. The reintroduction of this app with new and improved features is sure to make current users happy and even attract new ones. How the market will be affected, only time will tell.
