‘Dream 11’ IPL 2020 is getting ready to entertain the audience

IPL: A few days ago, BCCI gave the bidders an open invitation to participate in the tender to sponsor IPL 2020 following the unexpected exit of VIVO from the sponsorship race due to national reasons. And an online fantasy sports platform ‘Dream 11’ has successfully acquired the highest bid of the sponsorship and thereby gained the title sponsorship rights for the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League.

For the 12th edition of IPL, VIVO paid more than Rs.400 crores, and now Dream 11 has acquired the rights for just Rs. 220 crores. Although the value dropped drastically, it could be observed that there are various reasons affecting this drop. Out of those, the mains ones being the pandemic effect and Indo-China border Issue. Had the border issue not been there, VIVO would have been enjoying the sponsorship rights, and BCCI’s treasury would have added 400 crores by the end of IPL. But things have changed, and Dream 11 has dethroned VIVO and obtained the rights. As said by Ganguly, the exit of VIVO is just a blip, and BCCI is successful in finding the right replacement.
