They used fluorescent dyes to bind to the specific segments of the bacterial DNA that possess the different antibiotic-resistant genes. When these genes exist in the sample, the microchip detects it easily.
This method could help to identify several types of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Though the multiplex analysis doesn’t cause a direct effect on the superbug, it would surely assist to improvise the chance of treatment sooner.
