How cool is to detect superbugs in just an hour?

“Superbug” is the most growing topic all over the world for a decade. They are the germs, which could be bacteria, parasites, or fungi that have resistant to the drugs, that should kill them. They carry a lot of disturbing conditions, which makes the scientists ponder over it.

As of now, the detection of superbug needs around 24 hours. But when we find the resistant strain sooner, it could help us to manage it, and also can prescribe more appropriate medicines. Recently, scientists from different streams put their hands together to detect the superbug within 1 hour. In this technique, the bacteria have isolated by the blood spinning process. They used fluorescent dyes to bind to the specific segments of the bacterial DNA that possess the different antibiotic-resistant genes. When these genes exist in the sample, the microchip detects it easily.

This method could help to identify several types of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Though the multiplex analysis doesn’t cause a direct effect on the superbug, it would surely assist to improvise the chance of treatment sooner.
