Taylor Swift colloquially known as Ty Ty, revealed the co-writer for Folklore to be Joe Alwyn, her boyfriend. During her conversation with the co-producers of the album, she discussed the song’s lyrics and the process of creation of the record.

Taylor Swift said that she composed Folklore during the pandemic as she was bored and felt as if storytelling and melancholic melodies were necessary to bring people back into their element. She went on to give people the perfect mixture of rhythm and musical notes during the quarantine.
I felt listless and purposeless a few days into quarantine, so i made folklore. everyone needed a good cry, as well as us.

As the pandemic was telling on the mental health of the world’s population, even Taylor felt demotivated and somewhat uninspired to begin her work on something new. But unlike the vast majority of people falling prey to unproductiveness, Taylor began with her new album, Folklore, with a tint of pop and country music, making it a hit.
It just became an album really quickly and really really beautifully surprisingly.

Swift didn’t tell her label about the album until the week before she decided to release it. She was surprised to get immense support from her fans.
