Bernie Sanders glad that his meme went viral; plans to raise money for charity

Social media has been flooding with hilarious edits of Senator Bernie Sanders since January 20, when he was spotted at the recent United States Presidential Inauguration wearing mittens.

The picture that made Bernie Sanders go viral

When Bernie Sanders was asked during an interview on CNN, whether he knew of the meme and what he thought about it, he stated that he was glad that it got viral and was planning to sell merchandise using the meme to raise money for charities and programs that benefit the needy, like the Meals on Wheels program, which feeds citizens with low income.

The senator shared in an interview with Seth Meyers that he was more worried about keeping warm and that he did not worry about how he looked. According to SLATE, he also told CBS News that “in Vermont, we dress warm, we know something about the cold, and we’re not so concerned about good fashion, we want to keep warm. And that’s what I did today.”
