Maroon 5 is an American pop rock band from Los Angeles, California, and consists of lead vocalist Adam Levine, keyboardist and rhythm guitarist Jesse Carmichael, lead guitarist James Valentine, drummer Matt Flynn, keyboardist PJ Morton, and multi-instrumentalist Sam Farrar.
Recently, the group released a new collaboration song featuring Meghan Thee Stallion named “Beautiful Mistakes.” Adam, the frontman of the band, spoke to Apple Music’s Zane Lowe to boost and promote his new song, and his one statement aggravated many people everywhere.
He said, “I feel like there aren’t any bands anymore, you know?” referring to the making of Maroon 5 in the early aughts. He continued saying “That’s the thing that makes me kind of sad, is that there were just bands. There’s no bands anymore, and I feel like they’re a dying breed.”
He did try to do damage control and put out the fire by then saying, “I mean, there still are plenty of bands and maybe they’re not in the limelight quite as much, or in the pop limelight, but I wish there could be more of those around.”
This led to fans, singers like Hayley Williams, and bands like Garbage getting aggravated and taking offense to his statement.
