The pandemic has been highly devastating for most countries around the world, reporting shocking rates of rising cases and deaths. The Australian government has been very particular in taking precautionary measures since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country in January 2020. Borders were closed for all non-residents while returning residents and citizens were put in quarantine hotels that were well supervised. The response of the country to the pandemic has been praiseworthy.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison stated that the country is in “no hurry” to open flights for visitors since it would just mean putting the hardly achieved success against coronavirus at risk. Citizens of Australia in recent months have been living safe, secure, and carefree lives, unlike most countries around the world who are still deeply struggling to get through the highly contagious virus. Higher rates of intrastate travel have been observed in Australia in the recent months of 2021, when most people around the world are compelled to cage themselves inside the four walls of a room.
Restrictions will be a bit eased only once the vulnerable population of the country is vaccinated, as said by the Prime Minister, further adding that the international flights will remain limited and visitors won’t be allowed anytime soon.
