Victor Lee Tucker, 30, allegedly shot a cashier after a dispute over mask-wearing regulations.
The shooting took place at the Big Bear Supermarket in DeKalb, Atlanta at 1 pm Monday (14th June).
Tucker reportedly left the shop after the argument, before returning with a handgun and killing the cashier.
A deputy and an officer who were at the supermarket then shot at Tucker, with Tucker returning fire.
The deputy was struck twice by Tucker’s bullets and is in stable condition at the hospital.
Two other officers arrested Tucker while he attempted to crawl out of the supermarket, and he was taken to a local hospital.
He is likely to face murder charges, DeKalb Sheriff Maddox told reporters on Monday.
